How much is that doggie in the window?

Although I've been a bit lax with the Cute Local Animal of the Week lately, I wanted to share with all the Twin Citians reading that I heard on the radio this morning that the Animal Humane Society is simply overrun with adoptable dogs.

According to the story (not that I have any idea what station I was listening to), they had sixty dogs turned into them in one day and they're currently living two to a kennel.

Now, I know adopting a dog is a huge commitment (and one I'm certainly not ready for), I wanted to share in case any of you were thinking about adopting.

Because adopting from the Humane Society is way cooler than going to a pet store or a breeder.

And if I was going to adopt a dog, it would be this one:

What a cute puppy, I wish I was at a point where I could adopt one.

I'm still trying to convince my parents to get another once since our doggy passed away earlier this year. This brings more cred to my whining.

Dammit, Emily. This story made me cry once already today, now you're gonna do it again. I so wish I could afford a dog.

Over ten years ago I adopted a dog just before it was to be brought to the Humane Society. Sparky the WunderBeagle has been a great pet, mischievious at times, but a fine loving dog with all the peculiarities every pet should have. It is a big commitment and not for everyone.
