Why I Love My Office

When I got a new job at the beginning of the year, I upgraded from a cubicle to an office. A real one. With a door. It's amazing.

Not to make all you cube-dwellers jealous, but here are something of the things you can enjoy in an office but not a cube (and to be fair, their associated drawbacks):

Benefit #1
With your computer facing away from the door, you can freely browse the Internet without worrying about your boss sneaking up behind you.

Drawback: You probably browse the Internet more than you should.

Benefit #2
You can listen music through speakers, not headphones, without pissing off your neighbors.

Drawback: Sometimes you forget where you are and rock out a little too hard, then get spotted by someone through the tiny window in your door. Not that this has happened to me or anything . . .

Benefit #3
Office gossip is easier behind closed doors.

Drawback: Office gossip is usually mean.

Benefit #4
No one can hear your phone conversations, whether it's with a client, your doctor, or your mom.

Drawback: Hmm, can't think of one here. A girl's gotta have her privacy.

Benefit #5
Farting.

Drawback: Should someone happen to come in your office shortly after, they're going to know it was you.
